Cici Web Cookies Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2024

Welcome to Cici. This Web Cookies Policy applies whenever you visit a website on the ciciai.com domain, unless expressly stated otherwise (collectively, the "Websites" and each a "Website").

On the Websites, we use cookies and other tracking technologies such as software development kits (SDKs) and local storage. These technologies allow us to store information or gain access to information stored on your device to enable certain features and distinguish you from other visitors. Tracking technologies are used by most website providers to let users navigate between pages efficiently, ensure web security, understand how their websites are used, remember user preferences and generally improve the user experience.

1. What technologies are used?

Cookies: Cookies are small text files that enable us and our service providers to uniquely identify your browser or device for various purposes, including those described above. Cookies normally work by assigning a unique number to your device and are stored on your browser by the websites that you visit as well as third party service providers to those websites.

Cookies can remain on your computer or mobile device for different periods of time. Some cookies are "session cookies", meaning that they exist only while your browser is open and are deleted automatically once you close your browser.

Other cookies are "persistent cookies", meaning that they survive after your browser is closed. Most persistent cookies are set to automatically expire after a defined duration (for example, a number of days). When you return to that website (or visit other websites that use the same cookies) the website provider or its service providers can recognise the persistent cookies they have set and recognise your browsing device.'

SDKs: SDKs are pieces of code that enable the collection of data relating to your device, network and interaction with a website. Like cookies, they generally operate by assigning your device a unique number.

Local storage: Local storage files are created by websites to store information on your device. They are very similar to cookies, but can have slightly different properties (for example, local storage can be used to store more information. Local storage is normally used to speed up site functionality and remember your preferences.

2. Categories of tracking technologies

Tracking technologies can either be “first-party” or “third-party”. First-party tracking technologies refer to tracking technologies that we set and use directly. Third-party tracking technologies refer to tracking technologies set by third parties (such as analytics or advertising service providers).

The types of tracking technologies used by us in connection with the Websites can be classified into one of three categories: (i) "Strictly necessary", (ii) "Functionality", (iii) "Analytics and performance" and (iv) "Advertising and marketing". We have set out some further general information about each of these categories below.

(i) Strictly necessary

These tracking technologies are essential to provide you with the Websites and the features you have requested, such as optimising and improving access to the Websites, user authentication, fraud detection, detecting non-human (bot) traffic, traffic scheduling and network distribution. As such, you cannot decline these tracking technologies.

We use first-party tracking technologies for such purposes.

(ii) Functionality

Functionality tracking technologies record information you enter or choices you make, such as language preference for the Websites, login status, login details and your cookie consent choice. They help to make the Websites work more efficiently and enable us to tailor the Websites to your preferences. For some of these technologies that may be essential for the Websites and the features you have requested, you will not be able to decline them.

We use first-party tracking technologies for such purposes.

(iii) Analytics and performance

We use analytics and performance tracking technologies to analyse how you use the Websites, including which pages you view most often, how you interact with the content, measure any errors that occur and test different design ideas. The information is used to report and evaluate your activities and patterns as a user of the Websites.

We use first-party tracking technologies for such purposes. They have a maximum duration of 13 months.

(iv) Advertising and marketing

We use advertising and marketing tracking technologies to help us to promote our services on other platforms and websites and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns.

We also deploy tracking technologies from the following third-parties for the following advertising and marketing purposes:

· Google analytics/Ads (https://policies.google.com/privacy)

o Purpose: To connect Google searches with visits to our Websites. To improve our marketing campaigns, including to track ad conversions from ads for Cici shown on Google, build targeted audiences, optimise Cici ads on third party websites and apps for current and future visitors and remarket to people who have already taken some kind of action on our Websites or on Cici ads.

o Duration: 24 months

3. How can I control these tracking technologies

As some of the tracking technologies that we use are strictly necessary to operate the Websites, you cannot control the use of them. For tracking technologies that are not strictly necessary to provide you with the Websites, depending on where you are, you can have the option to accept or refuse them. Please note that blocking and/or deleting the tracking technologies may cause some of your Websites' preferences to be lost and certain functionalities on the Websites to not operate properly.
